“I ate here after Montclair's open house, and this has been one of the best eating experiences I've had in a while. I was able to get meals and drinks for 2 as well as a appetizer for under $30. On top of that the portion sizes were really filling, something incredible for the price. The food was a bit oily, but really delicious, so I recommend anyone in the area to give this place a try!“

“We went for brunch and it was great. The portions were not disappointed. I had a chicken burger and my husband had a salad. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The only thing it’s a loud place because it’s a very, very busy place. When in the area again I will come back.“

“The diner looked clean, and the booths were already set for dining. The waitress was quick and paid attention to us. The parking provided by the restaurant was full, so I had to find a local parking spot. They manage the booths well, cleaning them up when people leave. They play 90s music, which gives it a relaxed vibe. Since it's close to the high school, I believe lots of locals come here for lunch, giving it a friendly neighborhood feel. The waitress got my order in and out, and the food got out 10-12 minutes, though I just ordered a cheeseburger. The food prices seemed typical. It wasn't overpriced, and the burger tasted great!I went there during lunchtime, and it started filling quickly, but the waiter handled it pretty well! The booths give off this relaxed 80s vibe, and everything was clean despite the rush. It's an excellent spot for a quick bite, especially if you're into that nostalgic feel and are okay with the parking situation.“

“Ok, Grant Plater u f*ckn idiot it's obvious u don't get out to eat much... So d*** f*** any diner in the fun word u go to u get a waffle that can be cut into 4 sections. As far as chicken n Waffles d*** f*ck unless u specify fried chicken and waffles, u will get tenders as for the gravy stupid for ur chicken, ur supposed to use syrup with this plate. If you did get fried chicken the cost would go up, duhh let me guess u would b**** about that to. Unless u no how a dish is served u should not complain because u sound like a f*ckn d*** a** who doesn't have a clue about dining out.. you wud be the type to go to a classy astablishment and say wats all the forks and spoons for by one plate.. ask before u comment and make a a** out of urself“

“Went here after a show that ended at 10pm with family didn't know that they close at 11pm the staff were very receptive and accommadating no questions asked they served us and didn't rush us out. “This place was great and the prices were reasonable Found it after a soccer game. They had the food out quick and paid attention to all of what we wanted. We had burgers and fries and the kids had breakfast like waffles and pancakes. The atmosphere gets a three because it needs to be updated but who cares as long as the food was good.“

“After a long overnight shift at the hospital I stopped in the nearest breakfast spot on google. I like to support small owned businesses because usually you receive good quality service and that’s what I encountered when coming in this morning. I had the bacon egg and cheese on a roll and a coffee. The sandwich was delicious, and the coffee was just that. Coffee. If you’re in a rush first thing in the morning be sure to give yourself time because they take they’re time to prep the food but in a good way overall I was satisfied and will be back again.“

“Park Wood Diner is the first restaurant my family visited when we started fencing in Maplewood. They have expanded their hours over the last year, which makes it incredibly convenient to pick up sandwiches for dinner after practice. We also eat here with friends on weekends, and the breakfast combination platter of pancakes, bacon, eggs and home fries is extremely popular.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the extremely large menuDietary restrictions: You can find a variety of options to fit different diets.Parking: There is a free parking lot around the corner from the main entrance.Kid-friendliness: Very, very kid friendly. “Not sure if this is a mom and pop diner but I'll tell you this, the food is absolutely fire. I had the Meat lovers omelette and a side of the challah bread French toast and I don't think I've ever had French toast like this. It's so delicious. My date had a salad off the keto menu. They were attentive to her tree-nut allergies and the service was courteous and timely.“

“First time coming here since remodel. The new atmosphere and remodel is amazing. I love the new set up and everything. However the service wasn’t that good, our waiter barely came to the table to check on us and forgot about some of our food. The food wasn’t entirely bad, it was flavorful but a little dry.“

On a weekend, the next best option would be to park in the Millburn train station parking lot, which is less than 5 min away by walk. As a last option, one can choose to pay and park in the parking garage, diagonally across the diner.“

“I've said it before, I'll say it again, NJ is known for its exceptional diners.. and I judge them by how good their coffee is. Miss America diner hits all the spots. Not only was the coffee full bodied and delicious, but the food was equally delicious. I came with a family of 6 on Easter morning at around 10:30 am. No waiting, no huge crowd. We had French toast, beef sausage, link sausage, pork bacon, grits, eggs, a bacon omelet, chicken fingers and fries - all of which was so simply delicious. There was nothing fancy about the place and its tiny but it's places like those that come through with some yummy for the tummy. The waitress was nice, got our order on point and I'd definitely be here again. We were so hungry we forgot pics but I'll be back.Vegetarian options: They have meatless options that could be vegetarian. As far as vegan options I did see salads and fruit and vegetables on the menu.Parking: There is a lot in front of the diner.Kid-friendliness: I came with my children. My baby was able to have a high seat, and I believe that there is a kid part of the menu although we didn't order from it.“

“I visit this place about once a month. The staff is friendly it gives a kind of homely ambience. The food is good I haven't had a complaint yet the prices are ok I feel like they may b a tad bit too much but with inflation in mind it's very reasonable. Nice size portions especially if you eat in.“

“I go to this place from time to time to have breakfast and i gotta say its great! The food here is delicious...they have a variety of breakfast platters that would really satisfy any customer. The service is good, only thing is that it gets packed after that early morning school rush. But other than that i really dont have any complaints. “Located at an intersection between Goffle Road and Wagaraw Road, forming a triangle, my partner and I had lunch at the Hawthorne Diner as first-timers. Upon entering, the interior was small and simple, but it had plenty of booths as well as a bar and was clean. There were a few tables in the back where we sat promptly. Their menu had everything one wanted or needed at a typical Jersey diner. There were plenty of breakfast choices, as well as wraps, sandwiches, and dinner options. We decided on something light and went for the broccoli cheddar potato skins and 1/2 tuna fish sandwich combo with salad. Good food is served in a timely fashion and at a decent price. Our server was friendly and attentive. We can recommend this place.“

If you miss Libbys Lunch on McBride Ave, this is the place for you. The owner was the head cook at Libbys for many years so its just as good if not better, especially since its Halal!“

“My first time going during mid-November -- I stopped by around noon, and the place was pretty crowded, but still lots of available seating! I ordered the eggs Benedict -- the avocado option, which was a healthier alternative than the regular one with muffin. -- it had so much delicious hollandaise sauce. My partner ordered the Hillery Street house special from the breakfast platter menu, which has two large pancakes, eggs, and bacon strips. We also ordered (not pictured) hot chocolate with whipped cream and regular coffee with milk--- the milk is served in this cute sealed small glass container. Overall, it is a family-friendly place with great service and tasty brunch options with sizeable portions. We definitely see ourselves returning to try more of their breakfast menu. Ps: Nicely decorated with an autumn theme not just outside the entrance but all over the restaurant.“
