Winter is over, and it's officially spring—more importantly, it's almost summer. Believe it or not, swimsuit season is only twelve weeks away, which is just enough time to get baby-smooth skin with the help of an at-home laser hair removal device. And, PSA: My current IPL device of choice, the Ulike Air 3, is $70 off on Amazon, thanks to the retailer's Big Spring Sale happening March 20-25.

The painless at-home laser hair removal device normally retails for $329, but you can score it this week on Amazon for only $259. It utilizes a clinically-backed hair-removal method called intense pulsed light—IPL, for short—that interrupts the hair growth cycle and causes hair in treated areas to grow back thinner and slower or to stop growing back at all. Though I've still yet to finish the full 8-12 week treatment cycle, I'm already wowed by the hair reduction I'm seeing. Equally as exciting is knowing this summer will be free of bikini bumps, razor burn and my overpriced waxing lady telling me to assume the dreaded butterfly position.

The Ulike Air 3's fancy-sounding Sapphire Ice-Cooling System is what distinguishes it from the other IPL devices I've tried. It feels noticeably cool against the skin, even after minutes of continuous use on the highest setting, while others became so hot to the touch that I was afraid to keep using them. I've not once felt pain or burning sensations while using the Ulike Air 3, which has made me feel wayyy more confident treating sensitive areas like my upper lip, armpits and bikini line.

But, don't just take my word for it. Amazon shoppers are equally obsessed. "I’ve put off buying a laser hair removal device for a long time, but finally bit the bullet and decided on this one, and I'm so happy with my decision," writes one reviewer. "There is no pain involved. I’m less than halfway through the first [cycle], and my skin is so much smoother and my KP is virtually gone—no bumps and barely any hair growing back. I love the cold feature."

The device offers three intensity levels and a Thumbs-Free Auto-Glide Mode that flashes every 0.7 seconds, meaning you can treat your whole bod in 20 minutes or less. Ulike recommends starting with three treatments per week for three weeks, followed by treatments every other week for 4-8 more weeks and occasional maintenance treatments once you've finished a full cycle. While the device isn't cordless, it is super compact and comes with a convenient storage box to stash the device, cords, mini razor and foldable protective eyewear between uses.

Two quick notes of caution: Like almost all IPL devices on the market, the Ulike Air 3 is not suitable for dark skin tones and light hair colors. And, it's unsafe for use on tattoos, so you'll need to cover them during treatments or avoid the area entirely. If you're new to the world of at-home laser hair removal, you'll want to do a little research to ensure you get the right device for your skin type and hair reduction goals. Thankfully, Ulike has a handy IPL suitability quiz on its site to help you out!
